BMW warranties are also listed by geographic region. These warranties differ based upon region. Here, we will focus on BMW Canada. You can find the most updated policies on the website. Current automobile warranty coverage from BMW Canada includes the following terms:
New cars have a limited warranty period of four years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first. This warranty includes assurances that any vehicle first purchased by BMW Canada or imported through the BMW Canada European Delivery Program is free of workmanship or material defects.
BMW Canada automobile owners are able to take advantage of no-charge scheduled maintenance for four years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first.
BMW Canada automobile owners can also take advantage of a limited emissions control warranty that lasts for four years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first. Under this warranty, the company assures that all emission components are free of workmanship and material defects. These components do not include Specific Control Devices and Emission Performance Systems – the onboard diagnostic system, the engine control module, and the catalytic converter.
The specific control devices mentioned above have a warranty of eight years or 130,000 km from BMW Canada, whichever comes first.
Emissions performance is ensured with a warranty for two years or 40,000 km, whichever comes first. Emissions performance systems include the fuel metering system, positive crankcase ventilation system, air induction system, ignition system, exhaust system, secondary air injection system, engine emission control system sensors and devices, one of the onboard diagnostic systems and the evaporative emission control system.
BMW Canada protects its vehicles with limited rust perforation warranties for 12 years, but only for vehicles with model years of 2004 and up. For model years prior to 2004, the warranty is for six years. There is an unlimited amount of mileage that an owner can put on a car within this part of the warranty.
BMW Canada also includes a roadside assistance service package that is good for four years. There is an unlimited amount of mileage on this part of the warranty as well.
BMW Canada also specifies that certain systems may vary according to the automobile model that is being serviced. Any system that is not included in the model is obviously not covered in the warranty. This means that if a buyer puts a new system that serves the same purpose as the factory system of the same name and performance features, it will not be covered by the BMW Canada warranty. Adding onto the vehicle in this way may also void certain other parts of the warranty as well.
BRIEF HISTORY OF BMW
The Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) brand originated in 1922 In Munich, Germany. Originally an aircraft engine manufacturer, BMW switched to auto manufacturing in 1929. Over time, the brand expanded from secondary designs into proprietary luxury productions, which truly expanded into its own after World War II. Continued expansion and acquisitions have increased the power of the company to include the Mini and Rolls-Royce marquees at certain points in time.
BMW now has manufacturing facilities in Kaliningrad, Russia; Shenyang, China; Graz, Austria; Chennai, India; Egypt, and many other countries around the world. Although the company has had many unsuccessful merger attempts such as the Grover venture between 1994 and 2001, the brand and company now stand as one of the stalwart luxury markers of the automobile industry. BMW Canada is one of the more successful brands in the country, and the company has a head office established in Canada.
The BMW X1
The X1 has plenty of competition, but sales of it and its sister line the X2 continue to rise. Overall, the X1 and the X2 account for around 20% of all the BMWs that are sold in Canada.
The BMW X5
This is the most costly BMW on the list of high sellers in Canada, with the base model starting at around $70,000. This is true even though BMW introduced the larger X7 in March of this year. Actually, during that period, sales of the X5 jumped 30%.
The BMW X3
Even the least popular SUV under the BMW brand is a top seller in Canada. The X3 is the third best selling premium brand vehicle in the country even though it is down 14% from its 2018 sales pace. The X3 currently accounts for around 20% of the volume of car sales for BMW in Canada.
Here at Warranty World, we’re able to resolve virtually every issue you may experience. Cylinder heads and the engine block may cause you some trouble, but not worry, Warranty World has that covered. It’s important to note however that the above is not covered if related to overheating (regardless of what the cause may be). Warranty World also covers any and all parts that are known to be lubricated. This includes the following; camshafts, crankshafts, bearings of all types, connection points and connection rods, gears, timing chains, belts, tensioners, rocker arms, all valves, pistons, valve guides, valve springs, all other valve parts, all lubricated pins and pin assemblies, as well as piston rings and similar parts. It is important to note that diesel fuel injection systems are not included under our coverage.
Here at Warranty World, all things transmission are covered. Your transmission is what handles gears and various similar systems. Examples being RWD, AWD, FWD, and all systems. Ever put your car into reverse? Ever heard it shift through gears? Well, that’s your transmission. Warranty World covers all parts relating to this, excluding all components related to any manual clutch assembly your car may be equipped with.
Curious as to what your transfer case does? Well, this is responsible for changing between gear setups in eligible cars. For example, most pickup trucks have the ability to change from either RWD or AWD, and become 4WD. Rather than only two wheels utilizing power, now all four wood. As you may already understand, the transfer case is incredibly important, and Warranty World has it covered when it’s damaged from within.
Warranty World covers virtually everything that relates to differentials, except for 4WD locking mechanisms, as these are unrelated to the differential. Coverage is applicable when damage comes from within, meaning all internal parts are covered.
Both these systems allow for excellent performance across all vehicles equipped with them, however, they tend to go through a lot of strain when the vehicle is driven hard. In order to further protect these systems, they have been covered by Warranty World. This warranty covers all internal parts, and some external parts (housings, casings, etc.).
