Canadians love Dodge. Whether you're in the market for a family-friendly minivan or crossover SUV, a reliable sedan, or a world-famous performance vehicle, you’ll find that Dodge is known throughout the industry both for their craftsmanship and incredible power. While owning an iconic car can be a reward in itself, knowing about the specs, warranty, brand history are crucial.
For over a century, Dodge has staked its claim as one of the most notable brands in North American car manufacturing.
According to CEO Tim Kuniskis, “at Dodge, we don't make category cars. We make category cars nervous. Dodge strives to turn everyday vehicles into personal statements.”

BRIEF HISTORY OF DODGE
Founded in 1900 by Horace Elgin Dodge and John Francis, Dodge was producing vehicles as early as 1915 and was acquired by Chrysler in 1928 after the passing of its founders. To this day Dodge remains one of the leading names in American and Canadian car manufacturing.
For over a century, the Dodge brand has survived multiple ownership changes at Chrysler from 1998 to 2009, including its short-lived merger with Daimler-Benz AG and its subsequent sale to Cerberus Capital Management, its 2009 bailout by the U.S. government, and its subsequent Chapter 11 bankruptcy and acquisition by Fiat. Having survived a century of conflict and upheaval, Dodge has remained a leading brand for automobiles, minivans and other sport utility vehicles.
Boasting “unmistakable muscle,” the Challenger is one of Dodge’s most popular brands and one of the most recognizable vehicles on the market. This car is famous for staying true to its classic 1970s roots and is designed to inspire nostalgia while keeping your heart rate high. The Challenger is both commute and drag-strip ready, achieving 305 HP with a 3.6L Pentastar™ VVT V6 engine and 8-speed TorqueFlite® automatic transmission. While mimicking a raging bull on the outside, the cushy interior ensures it’s a comfy ride.
Dodge Journey SE Plus
Epitomizing the term “versatility refined,” the Journey brand has been one of Dodge’s leading cross-over SUVs since its inception in 2007 and received a full redesign in 2011. Crafted for uncompromising comfort, the SE Plus model contains a 2.4L DOHC 16V Dual Variable Valve Timing (VVT) I-4 engine with 4-speed automatic transmission, and a highway fuel economy as low as 9.2L/100 KM (31 mpg.) The Journey SE Plus model is ideal for group outdoor treks and family outings, seating seven passengers comfortably and offering impressive cargo space.
Here at Warranty World, we’re able to resolve virtually every issue you may experience. Cylinder heads and the engine block may cause you some trouble, but not worry, Warranty World has that covered. It’s important to note however that the above is not covered if related to overheating (regardless of what the cause may be). Warranty World also covers any and all parts that are known to be lubricated. This includes the following; camshafts, crankshafts, bearings of all types, connection points and connection rods, gears, timing chains, belts, tensioners, rocker arms, all valves, pistons, valve guides, valve springs, all other valve parts, all lubricated pins and pin assemblies, as well as piston rings and similar parts. It is important to note that diesel fuel injection systems are not included under our coverage.
Here at Warranty World, all things transmission are covered. Your transmission is what handles gears and various similar systems. Examples being RWD, AWD, FWD, and all systems. Ever put your car into reverse? Ever heard it shift through gears? Well, that’s your transmission. Warranty World covers all parts relating to this, excluding all components related to any manual clutch assembly your car may be equipped with.
Curious as to what your transfer case does? Well, this is responsible for changing between gear setups in eligible cars. For example, most pickup trucks have the ability to change from either RWD or AWD, and become 4WD. Rather than only two wheels utilizing power, now all four wood. As you may already understand, the transfer case is incredibly important, and Warranty World has it covered when it’s damaged from within.
Warranty World covers virtually everything that relates to differentials, except for 4WD locking mechanisms, as these are unrelated to the differential. Coverage is applicable when damage comes from within, meaning all internal parts are covered.
Both these systems allow for excellent performance across all vehicles equipped with them, however, they tend to go through a lot of strain when the vehicle is driven hard. In order to further protect these systems, they have been covered by Warranty World. This warranty covers all internal parts, and some external parts (housings, casings, etc.).
Dodge Recalls List
Occasionally, FCA Canada will issue vehicle recall notices for specific vehicles in compliance with government, safety, and corporate practices. A notice is mailed to an owner should their vehicle be included in a recall or customer satisfaction notification.
Ignoring a recall could lead to a very unfortunate accident. For example, a faulty airbag system could result in serious injury or death. While Dodge owners are informed directly of any recalls affecting their vehicle, you can find out if your vehicle has any current unperformed or incomplete recalls or customer satisfaction notifications by checking the links below:
