Kia Motors is a South Korean automaker that's relatively new to both European and Canadian markets but has made a big splash in recent years. Earlier during its founding, they largely catered to budget-minded consumers with well-equipped vehicles priced below the competition. In recent years, this growing brand has kept value a top priority while also placing an emphasis on interior technology and sportiness.
Most recently, Kia has been on a major upswing since its purchase by Hyundai, with improvements in build quality and performance. Fast forward to today, and Kia offers a broad lineup of well-built coupes, sedans, and crossovers that stand out for their value, performance and sporty styling.

BRIEF HISTORY OF KIA
Founded in December 1944 as a manufacturer of steel tubing and bicycle parts, Kia is South Korea’s oldest car manufacturing company and one of Korea’s leading automakers. Since its founding, the company has grown into a global brand, selling more than three million vehicles per year through its 19 sales offices and 4,821 dealerships in overseas markets, including Canada. Despite international growth, they are notable for maintaining the majority of their production in South Korea.
Gradually, Kia diversified, taking on the assembly of motorbikes, followed by trucks, and finally cars in the 1970s. Presently, Kia is one of the fastest-growing automobile brands in the UK and Europe, and one of the top manufacturers in Canada since Kia Canada opened operations in 1999.
Kia Sportage LX
The 2020 Kia Sportage LX ranks in the top third of the compact SUV class, largely because of its handsome cabin, intuitive tech features, and gentle ride. The Sportage costs less than many of its competitors but offers more features, including standard Apple CarPlay, and driver aids such as forward collision warning systems. The Sportage LX model boasts a highway fuel Economy 9.1 (L/100km) with horsepower capability of 181. Under the hood, we see a 2.4L GDI 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed Sportmatic Automatic transmission.
Kia Optima EX
This Optima EX model coffers some of the most feature-packed models you can buy in the midsize sedan segment, and often tops lists of leading midsize vehicles despite the increasing popularity of crossovers and Canadians gravitating towards larger models. Kia's family sedan receives a refresh for 2019 that includes revised exterior styling, new lighting elements, and fresh wheel designs. The Optima EX achieves 185 Horsepower with its 2.4L GDI 4-cylinder engine, backed up with a 6-speed Sportmatic automatic transmission and stands as one of Kia’s most popular sedans.
Kia Soul EV Premium
Designed with US and Canadian markets in mind with more aggressive emissions regulations, the Soul EV Premium is one of Kia’s leading electronic vehicles. This second generation of the Kia Soul EV has doubled its driving distance and greatly diminished its charge time to compete in the rapidly evolving marketplace. Still boxy and proud of it, the charging time from 20 percent to 80 percent can be as quick as 40 minutes from a 100 kW fast charger with a Permanent Magnet AC Synchronous Motor along with a Single-Speed Reduction Gear transmission.
Here at Warranty World, we’re able to resolve virtually every issue you may experience. Cylinder heads and the engine block may cause you some trouble, but not worry, Warranty World has that covered. It’s important to note however that the above is not covered if related to overheating (regardless of what the cause may be). Warranty World also covers any and all parts that are known to be lubricated. This includes the following; camshafts, crankshafts, bearings of all types, connection points and connection rods, gears, timing chains, belts, tensioners, rocker arms, all valves, pistons, valve guides, valve springs, all other valve parts, all lubricated pins and pin assemblies, as well as piston rings and similar parts. It is important to note that diesel fuel injection systems are not included under our coverage.
Here at Warranty World, all things transmission are covered. Your transmission is what handles gears and various similar systems. Examples being RWD, AWD, FWD, and all systems. Ever put your car into reverse? Ever heard it shift through gears? Well, that’s your transmission. Warranty World covers all parts relating to this, excluding all components related to any manual clutch assembly your car may be equipped with.
Curious as to what your transfer case does? Well, this is responsible for changing between gear setups in eligible cars. For example, most pickup trucks have the ability to change from either RWD or AWD, and become 4WD. Rather than only two wheels utilizing power, now all four wood. As you may already understand, the transfer case is incredibly important, and Warranty World has it covered when it’s damaged from within.
Warranty World covers virtually everything that relates to differentials, except for 4WD locking mechanisms, as these are unrelated to the differential. Coverage is applicable when damage comes from within, meaning all internal parts are covered.
Both these systems allow for excellent performance across all vehicles equipped with them, however, they tend to go through a lot of strain when the vehicle is driven hard. In order to further protect these systems, they have been covered by Warranty World. This warranty covers all internal parts, and some external parts (housings, casings, etc.).
Kia Recalls List
Typically, a manufacturer recall occurs when it is determined that a model has a safety-related defect or doesn’t comply with federal or provincial safety standards. When this happens, Kia will alert owners to the problem and usually offer a free repair. This generally happens within weeks of a recall and is sent directly to the owner through personalized mail.
The recall letter should have instructions as to your next steps. You will most likely be instructed to call your local Kia dealer to set up a repair appointment. You can check if your KIa model has experienced a recall by checking the links below:
